Services Overview
The Plano & Simple process for refining your company pitch(es) has been developed over the course of hundreds of coaching sessions and presentation refinements. Only the first step listed below is required for all clients - if I'm going to help you at all, I need to understand your business and at least the benefits of your technology. Years of experience have demonstrated that the Coaching Session is the most efficient way for me to get that understanding.
1. Coaching Session
The first step is a two-hour meeting, face to face. I want to hear the current version of your ten-minute pitch, no matter how rough it is (I've almost certainly heard worse - and in any event, we'll be rebuilding it from scratch) and whether it targets investors or customers. Then we will go through each of the major elements of your business, rethinking how we represent your technology and its benefits as well as the overall flow. From this session, you will have options for improved content and flow of your presentations, as well as a verbal assessment of your company's strengths and weaknesses from the perspective of your audience. A written assessment can be provided as an additional service.
2. Investor Pitch
I will convert the narrative we developed in the Coaching Session into a clean, crisp slide deck, including speaker notes and graphics. These graphics will provide clear, supporting context to your words at an appropriate level of sophistication for a small business budget. If you prefer professional graphics, I will be happy to work with someone of your choosing or recommend excellent providers with whom I have had great success.
3. Website Content and Structure
Your website is your company's most constant and visible presence. I provide services from rewriting the copy to creating the entire website and incorporating appropriate social media. I have preferred platforms on which I have already built websites (including this one and some of those in the Portfolio and Before and After sections) so can execute these the most quickly. The finished website will represent your company's technology and business in a way that is accessible and easily navigated. I can also provide website management services.
4. Written Pitches: One Pagers, Executive Summaries and Grant Proposals
While much of today's pitches are focused on presentations and websites, there is still a strong need for well written documents.
- Attractive, clear and compelling one page handouts are useful reminders of your capabilities to investors, customers, trade show attendees, reporters and others.
- Anyone approaching an investor should have an excellent three to five page executive summary of their business plan available in hard copy and electronic form.
- A written proposal is just one more form of pitching your company to someone with money and needs to reflect the same thought process as other pitches, with special attention paid to the exact audience.
With the background from our coaching session and close work with the appropriate technical and marketing people in your company, I can help you produce documents that reflect the benefits your company brings to its customers and investors in clear, concise language.
